Lure of the Lusitania by Órfhlaith Ní Chonaill

Órfhlaith Ní Chonaill has just finished her manuscript, Lure of the Lusitania, a literary/historical novel. It is the book that she was born to write. Many years of work and much research have gone in to bring it to a place where she can finally say that she is happy with it. She is currently seeking a publisher.

The Lusitania

and Órfhlaith Ní Chonaill

On 7th May 1915, the Lusitania, a Cunard passenger liner, was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat off the south coast of Ireland. 1,201 people (officially 1,198) lost their lives. Órfhlaith Ní Chonaill’s grandfather was Cunard’s Area Manager in Queenstown (now Cobh) where the survivors and the dead were brought ashore. He was later awarded an MBE for his Service to Humanity.

The Man With No Skin by Órfhlaith Ní Chonaill

Irish priest, Father Ciarán O'Sullivan, is viciously attacked and left for dead in his home in the village of Kishagi on the slopes of Mount Kenya. This is a journey of love, hatred, jealousy, and forgiveness in a place at the centre of a whirlpool of differing cultures and beliefs.

“Órfhlaith Ní Chonaill puts the reader in the center of the world as it now exists: raw and breathtakingly beautiful; violent and unutterably tender. The Man With No Skin will change you.” Pat Schneider.
